Innovative Foodservice Solutions on Display in FS/TEC Exhibit Hall
Scores of innovative technology applications for the restaurant industry took center stage at FS/TEC in the Exhibit Hall. In addition to the latest software and hardware from more than 80 exhibitors, FS/TEC featured a Technology Innovation Center showcasing advances that are anticipated within the industry in the future. |
FS/TEC's program also generated excitement with a keynote address by noted technology forecaster Daniel Burrus, followed by a panel discussion with leading technology executives. Andy Ford, of NOBLE Communications & CultureWaves, also explored the impact of technology on behavior before moderating a panel of restaurant CEOs and COOs.
The inspiration for new foodservice technology was explored during the CIO Panel. Robert N. Grimes of Accuvia was the moderator. The panelists included Tamy Duplantis, Potbelly Corp., Chicago; David Kaufman, Aramark Corp., Philadelphia; Przemyslaw Poppe, AmRest Holding, Warsaw, Poland; and Gary Trobaugh, Papa Murphy’s International Inc., Vancouver, Wash. A breakout session on lowering the cost of POS ownership drew a large crowd as presenters Jeff Gengler, Rock Bottom Restaurants, and Lou Grande, RARE Hospitality, shared best practices in this crucial cost containment area.
Another program winner was the Table Talk Roundtable session where leading technology experts met face-to-face with participants to examine issues of concern to them. With numerous tables and facilitators, Table Talk offered unique opportunities to share problems and discuss solutions.
